Bridging the Digital Divide: Helping Parents & Caregivers Navigate the Role of Technology in the Lives of Children and Teens

This session will outline the challenges that parents face when trying to manage their child’s technology use. It will cover topics including dispelling common myths about technology use, as well as research-based information about risks kids face online. The presenter will share the AAP Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health’s approach to identifying problematic media use, as well as strategies to build healthy digital media habits for youth and families. A focus on using conversations around technology to strengthen family relationships will be emphasized throughout the presentation.
