Stop Guessing! Let Your Students Help Lead Your School Climate Work

When students help design solutions, adults stop guessing. This session highlights the Reverse Mentoring Project, where students led school climate initiatives, mentored adults, and helped embed protective factors into the daily culture of the school. Participants will explore how meaningful student participation strengthened resilience, increased attendance and belonging, deepened empathy, and helped shift school climate work toward stronger relationships, shared ownership, and authentic student voice. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for building authentic student engagement and student-led climate initiatives.
