Supporting Transgender Students Best Practices Grounded in Youth Experience

All young people should feel welcome, safe, and supported at school. Unfortunately, transgender students often face unique challenges at school compared to their peers. Many report feeling that their classmates, teachers, and school officials are not welcoming or accepting of who they are. This presentation will review current experiences of transgender young people in New York and provide educators with tangible tools to support transgender students to ensure they can thrive.
