The School Mental Health Summer Academy is a FREE, virtual event celebrating the positive impact of a decade of mental health education in New York while preparing educators, administrators, school staff, and families for the upcoming school year. The powerful lineup of distinguished experts and presentations promises to deliver insight, inspiration, and innovative strategies to help schools gear up for the year ahead.

The Summer Academy will begin both days with powerful plenary sessions. 

Tuesday

Nothing About Us, Without Us: The Power of Youth Voices will feature a panel of students sharing their perspectives on both the challenges facing them and their peers, as well as how schools can best address these stressors and increase mental well-being for students. 

Wednesday

Looking Back at the Impact of a Decade of Mental Health Education and Moving Forward with MHANYS, will detail the tremendous impact introducing mental health education has had on schools and youth. Participants will learn how to partner with the SMHRTCenter and MHANYS, including new training and special events being launched in the fall, as well as how to bring Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid to their school.
