Developing Suicide Prevention in Schools

Do all staff in your district know what to do for a child who may be at risk for suicide? Do they know about the supports available for these students inside and outside of the school? Does your school district have written policies and procedures on how to support a child who may be at risk for suicide? Attendees will learn how school districts can develop a comprehensive suicide prevention program from the ground up, using a multi-tiered system of support. Attendees will leave with the information and resources needed to assess their districts’ policies and protocols, understand the staff training and student programming required, and learn how to navigate and use resources, including 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
